Our friends at the Public Religion Research Institute have a new graph that highlights different attitudes on a host of issues held by Catholics and Evangelicals. PRRI's CEO, Robert P. Jones, highlighted these differences in an article in Atlantic that is well worth reading. The alliance of conservative Catholics with conservative Evangelicals was always an unholy alliance, driven by politics and now, as Jones demonstrates, resulting in cultural divides that are the antithesis of what ecumenism should produce.
