I have been more concerned with the moral and human justifications for raising the minimum wage. But, in yesterday's Washington Post, Harold Meyerson pointed out two new studies that demonstrate the economic benefits of raising the minimum wage. Turns out, both San Francisco, the city with the highest minimum wage, and Washington State, the state with the highest minimum wage, have both experienced strong job growth, undercutting the argument that a hike in the minimum wage will cause an increase in unemployment. How will conservative Republicans argue now? Maybe they will find a way to link minimum wage increases to Benghazi.
