Great News on Jobs Report

We have not seen the words " great" and "jobs' report" in the same sentence for about five or six years. But, the Department of Labor today released its monthly jobs' report, indicating that the economy added 236,000 jobs in February and that the unemployment rate ticked down from 7.9% to 7.7%. Those numbers are great indeed. The caveat? Those numbers are also pre-sequester and if Congress and the White House do not come to a grand bargain that ameliorates the job-killing aspects of sequestration soon, the austerity program could snuff out whatever life is in the economy now just as the austerity programs in Europe have served only to increase unemployment, stall the recovery, and consequently if perversely, increase government deficits. This is one time the GOP should take their own mantra to heart and not let government get in the way of the economy.
