A long-standing crime in the nation's capital has been brought to an end: The Kennedy Center Concert Hall finally has a new organ.

When the Kennedy Center was built, much about the aesthetic life of the culture was off-kilter. Indeed, the building itself is evidence of this. The Kennedy center looks like a giant box of Kleenex and I have often thought it would be good if Christo were to sculpt a giant tissue coming out of the roof.  The organ inside the hall was further evidence, a last gasp of a dying organ building firm, that fell into disrepair from the moment it was born. Finally, a new organ has been installed and, according to the reviews, it is of significantly better quality. Can't wait to check it out for myself. One other note on this story - who knew Washingtonians would wait in line for a couple of hours for culture?
