One thing about Bishop Robert Lynch, who wrapped up his blog now that he is stepping down as the Bishop of St. Petersburg with one final post: The man has exquisite taste! Bishop Lynch has been an outstanding local bishop and a voice of sanity within the conference he once led as General Secretary. I was honored to get a nice shout out from him. Ad multos annos, Bishop Lynch!

A picture is worth a thousand words: In this article at Politico about the GOP House debacle on restricting the reach of the independent ethics agency, and then rescinding their effort, check out the way Speaker Paul Ryan is looking at Cong. Louie Gohmert. The episode showed how little control Ryan has over his own caucus, but the ability of Trump to whip them into line.

At Telos, Antoine de Tarle asks if Trump can govern with the Republicans? Always fascinating to see how America is viewed from abroad, and no one better than de Tarle, with his discerning eye, to explain the view.
