When faith triumphs over normal human emotions, like the desire for vengeance, it is a beautiful thing to see. This article in the Boston Globe by two parents who lost their son in the Boston Marathon bombing, and who sustained significant injuries themselves, argue against sentencing the convicted murdered Dzokhar Tsarnaev to death.

On the theme of polarization about which I wrote this morning, David Clouthier at CatholicMoralTheology.com on the polarization and the synod.

The conflicts in the Mideast are rooted in cultural differences that are immune to military solutions. At a time when our President takes a perverse delight in snubbing Israel, and when NCR seems hell bent in publishing only one side of the story, the tendentious one, here are two videos that show the different cultural reference points. The first, Israelis stop to recall the Holocaust. In the second, a young student - here in the U.S. - states her agreement with the proposition, stated by the head of Hezbollah, that all the Jews should go to Israel so that it would be easier to kill them. Make sure you listen until the end.
