At Politico, James Hohmann looks at the performances of GOP presidential hopefuls in Iowa last weekend. He seems surprised about the attacks on corporate America, but I am thinking that in a room full of social conservatives the GOP contenders have one message and a different message from what they deliver at their fundraisers. 

At Whispers, Rocco has the video of Bishop John Wester's press conference at which his being named Archbishop of Santa Fe was announced. +Wester's appointment is bad news for the good people of Salt Lake City, but there should be dancing in the streets in Santa Fe. The man is pure goodness. 

The horrific suffering in Nepal tugs at our heart strings. Catholic Relief Services is on the ground. Indeed, according to this story, CRS is one of seven "highly vetted" charities cited by Charity Navigator as a group to whom you can send money with confidence it will help the people on the ground. Which raises the question: What is the Lepanto Institute doing to help the poor people in Nepal?
