A bit of good news about the Republican Party. Forty-seven percent of Republicans now say they believe in climate change, up 19 points from two years ago. Scientific American has the story. One of the reasons for this uptick? Pope Francis.

Compare and contrast these two 13 minute segments on TV. First, Archbishop Blase Cupich in Chicago. Then, Archbishop emeritus John Nienstedt of St. Paul. Recently, George Weigel wrote that the retiring nuncio, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, was the "best nuncio ever." Archbishop Vigano, as Weigel knows, played no role in the promotion of Archbishop Cupich to Chicago and urged Archbishop Nienstedt not to resign. Still think he was the "best ever"?
