Many Catholics were disappointed that the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a case seeking to reinstate an Arizona law that barred abortions after 20 months. The law was overturned by a lower court. Others are focused on a case the Supreme Court will hear about whether or not restrictions on abortion protests violate free speech. But, the Supreme Court Monday decided to hear a case that should garner the attention of all Catholics, and likely will catch the pope's attention too. The Court will decide a case involving culture hedge funds that avoid settlements in sovereign debt negotiations, holding out for a larger wad of cash. The case the court will hear involves Argentina. Look for Papa Francesco to be more than a little interested in the outcome. Here is the press release from our friends at JubileeUSA.
