This article in the NYTimes the other day brought a smile to my face. Regular readers will know of my love for organ music and will also know that this love permits me the guilty pleasure of confirming my dislike for the Puritan founders, who, of course, in their philistine sensibilities, hated organ music. Restoring an old and venerable organ that once helped support the liturgy of a church generations ago, and will now do so again, is a noble enterprise. In an often cruel and cold, and always noisy, world, Our Lady of Refuge's newly restored organ will bring back some beauty to its neighborhood in Brooklyn.
