Pope Francis today named Australian theologian Tracey Rowland to the International Theological Commission. I have never met Rowland, but am deeply indebted to her book "Ratzinger's Faith," for helping me to understand, appreciate, and love the theology of Pope Benedict XVI. I reviewed that book in three parts, here, here and here. Congratulations to Rowland for this high honor and, even more, congratulations to the universal Church for the pope's decision to highlight this extraordinary theologian's work by naming her to the ITC.
