It has been awhile since we have bestowed another What Pope Francis Meant To Say award. This essay by John-Henry Westen at LifeSiteNews certainly warrants it. But, the real problem here is not tendentiousness but defensiveness. Westin wonders who the pope is talking about when he worries about "obsessed," "self=absorbed," "sourpusses" and then, presumably unwittingly, goes on to demonstrate exactly who the pope is talking about. It is your hand, Mr. Westen, that is in the cookie jar.
