After four rounds of voting, you, the readers, selected Cardinal Angelo Scola as the man you thought would become the next pope.

About a month ago, we started with the 117 eligible cardinals in the College of Cardinals, then had readers vote on the top 25, the top 10, then the top five. Scola of Milan won in the final round, with Cardinal Sean O'Malley of Boston as the runner-up, coming in 30 votes behind Scola.

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of the Philippines took an early lead and topped the votes each round until we reached the top five, when he dropped to the middle of the pack behind Scola and O'Malley.

The man who was actually elected pope, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, made it to the top 25, but barely missed the top 10 -- he was tied with Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco at No. 11 after the first round, eight votes below Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who was No. 10.

Thanks for voting, and we hope you enjoyed the process as much as we did!
