'Band of Sisters' showing in Kansas City and Arizona

NCR readers in Scottsdale and Tucson, Ariz., and Kansas City, Mo.: This is your week to see "Band of Sisters," the documentary by Mary Fishman of Chicago that chronicles the stories of several American nuns serving as central agents in the most effective social movements of our time and traces the shaping of community missions in a post-Vatican II church.

The film is in Scottsdale until Oct. 24. at the Harkins Theatres-Shea 14, 7354 E. Shea Blvd. 

Kansas Citians can see the film at 7 p.m. Thursday at The Tivoli in Westport, 4050 Pennsylvania Ave.

See the film Saturday in Tucson at The Loft Cinema, 3233 E. Speedway Blvd.

The showings in Kansas City and Scottsdale will be followed by discussion panels. The filmmaker is scheduled to talk in Scottsdale.
