Best Catholic news junky blog post of the day

Max Lindenman, who blogs at Diary of a Wimpy Catholic, wins the Best Catholic news junky blog post of the day for The Catholic Pundits Drinking Game. Lindenman, who wrote for NCR a couple years ago (See Eucharistic adoration: peaceful, despite the squabble, which shows you his range as writer) has different games for readers of NCR and America and for readers of First Things.

For National Catholic Reporter and America Magazine:

If the article’s title refers to the “changing” or “emerging” faces of anything, take a sip.

For First Things:

If someone posts a comment entirely in Latin, take a sip.

Read the comments section. Bob Zyskowski adds a drinking game for reading diocesan newspapers. For example: "If you count more than two “news” photos of the Ordinary of the diocese, have a Bloody Mary."

True Catholic news junkies will know that Zyskowski is the associate publisher and general manager of The Catholic Spirit newspaper in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, and that he is the winner of the Catholic Press Association's 2011 St. Francis de Sales Award. The St. Francis de Sales Award, known as the Frannie, is the highest award the CPA presents to an individual for "outstanding contributions to Catholic journalism."
