From columnist Michael Gerson, stirring insights into Pope Francis

I am a regular reader of Michael Gerson, whose column in the Washington Post I find to be one of the most thoughtful and thought-provoking from the conservative point of view. He is both politically and religiously conservative (a graduate of Wheaton College, self described as an Evangelical Christian liberal arts institution) so his thoughts on Pope Francis come from outside the tribe. I first heard him discussing Francis last December during the second dialogue presented by the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought at Georgetown University. I was moved then by his insights. More recently I came across this brief clip of a lecture that explores the effect of the Francis papacy and how it might be instructive to U.S. evangelicals. Just nine and a half minutes, but packed with wisdom and insight.
