Most of you are familiar with NCR's sister publication, Celebration, the liturgical planner, and its editor, Pat Marrin. His profound understanding of Catholic sacrament, liturgy and social justice come together monthly in Celebration, a must-read for liturgical planners.

Marrin has been gifted with many talents, among them a rich sense of humor and an artist's hand. He is a long time member of the American Association of Editorial Cartoonists. In September, he began drawing "Francis," a comic strip about a profoundly human pope. You can find "Francis" in NCR and on NCRonline.org in "The Francis Chronicles." It was not long before it caught the attention of John McMeel, former chair of the NCR board of director and co-founder and current chairman of Andrews McMeel Publishing, the world's largest distributor of comics.

McMeel and company contacted Marrin in December and offered him a spot on its GoComics site, part of Universal Uclick.

On Saturday, Marrin was invited to sign copies of his strip at Spectrum Fantastic Art Live, a large gathering of artists and their fans held in Kansas City, Mo., over the weekend.

Marrin joined Universal Uclick staffers Lindsay Gibson and Chris Craver at the GoComics exhibit table and autographed copies of his cartoons for art fans attending the event.
