Pope Francis approved a “Decree of Miracle” March 27 to Mother Maria Theresia Bonzel, who founded the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in Olpe, Germany, in 1863.

Three regional health systems have joined Ascension Health, the largest Catholic and largest nonprofit health system in the country, according to an April 1 press release.
The three systems are Ministry Health Care in Wisconsin and Minnesota, St. John Health System in Oklahoma, and Via Christi Health in Kansas, which has been an affiliate of Ascension Health since 2007.
Those three belong to the Marian Health System, based in Tulsa, Okla., and founded by the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother in 1989.
Sr. Therese Gottschalk, who has served as president and CEO of Marian Health System, will become executive advisor to the president and CEO of Ascension Health and will continue to serve on the boards of Ministry Health Care, St. John Health System and Via Christi Health.
