Neighborhood kindness in St. Louis in the wake of the Ferguson shooting

Sr. Regina Siegfried of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ sent this letter to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch describing some of the neighborhood kindness after an off-duty police officer killed Vonderrit Myers. I've tried to explain to people that the situation here expressed by the word "Ferguson" is a little like the blind men trying to grasp the idea of an elephant by touching only one part of its body. Sister Regina catches the portion that is the best of us all in her account.
