Thank you, sister

Kate Childs Graham, an NCR Young Voices columnist and supporter of women religious, said she has begun to post letters of support of U.S. women religious at www.thankyousister.com.

About a dozen have been posted so far, and Kate will add a few each day over the next month or so.

In September, Kate began collecting letters in support of women religious. She asked people to "share personal stories about how women religious have impacted your 'quality of life,' express messages of gratitude and/or convey general messages of support."

At the end of the month, Kate will send copies of all the letters she has received to Mother Mary Clare Millea (the Vatican appointed apostolic visitator to U.S. women religions), Cardinal Franc Rodé (prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, who ordered the apostolic visitation of U.S. women religious), Cardinal Francis George (archbishop of Chicago and president of the U.S. bishops' conference), and Pope Benedict XVI.

It's not too late to send in your letter. Visit www.thankyousister.com for details.
