It is good to keep eyes open to recognise where hostilities come from so as to discern possible ways to combat their causes and deal with the pitfalls. However, I urge you not to remain in a state of siege, and not to give in to the temptation to cry, to make victims of those who criticise us, provoke us or denigrate us."
