In an interview with the Catholic Standard, Cardinal Donald Wuerl rebuts the idea that some people close to the pope were trying to manipulate the synod: "It is simply impossible to manipulate the thinking and voting of over 250 bishops and cardinals from around the world as if they were somehow mindless androids." Lots of other good comments so read the whole interview.

Salt & Light media's Sebastian Gomes suggests six things to keep in mind in advance of the Holy Father's Apostolic Exhortation on the family. He is on target with all six, especially the first, namely, this will be Francis' second exhortation and will be in clear continuity with the themes articulated in Evangelii Gaudium.

The Governor of Texas wants the whole country to play with constitutional fire. A truly bad idea. 

Yesterday, at St. Matthew's Cathedral, the choir treated us to Haydn's "Domine fili unigenite" which gives you some idea of how spoiled we are at St. Matthew's. The organist also played Bach's transcription for organ of a Haydn concerto for strings before and after Mass.
